Cannot login anymore !!!

Ok, it's sometimes happens...

I logged..My account has been locked..until xx-xx-xx yy:yy (that time plus 5 minutes)

I wait for this deadline...

New attempt..locked again...More 5 minutes

Ok..I waited 10 minutes...Let's logon again !

Locked again ! Wait for current date/time plus 5 minutes again.

What's going on ?

I once read that if you have someone send you an IM in-world it can fix this issue. Or maybe I dreamt it. But it's worth a shot. I'll log on and send you one. See if it helps...

I Imed you in-world and did not get an offline message. Somehow your AV did not log out when you crashed. That is why you can't log in, because you are already in as far as SL can tell. Don't know how to help you from here. Anyone else?

I have the same problem. I get that message too everytime I try to log in. I really hope someone knows what can be done about this problem, because I hate being locked out...

its happening because your character is not logging out properly

what works for me when it happens is to completely reboot my computer

shut it down wait a good 4 or 5 min then reboot it and you should be able to get in fine

Thank you Tyci. Your suggestion was good, but it didn't help me (have tried rebooting, waiting, etc. several times).

In the 5 months I've been a citizen, I have never had these problems with login. Kind of scary that so few persons report this problem... makes me feel alone, isolated and abandoned...

Okay, Sas and I have this problem once in a while. If you are on broadband/network/something.. there is probably a router/modem that is hold the connection to the game. In our case it was the router that wasn't letting go, so we had to reboot it.

Also, it sometimes help to log into another sim, like Pooley, since it could also be the region not letting go of the connection.

If you are not on your own land. Maybe you could get someone from the forums to contact the landowner of where you are and eject you from the land. That forces SL to try and update your location and it will figure out you are not online

Again a good suggestion and I have already thought of that, but unfortunately I don't remember the name of my last location.

So if anyone see my avatar inworld please shoot him off the grid..lol .. he is just a ghost...

Have you tried simply loggin in to a different location?

I would TP from region to region to look for you and "shoot you off the grid", but unfortunately I can't TP anywhere.

Yes, I have tried different locations and I have tried all the other suggestions above (and many more).

To one of my friends (who I have chatted with on Yahoo), I look to be online. She have also tried sending me IMs inworld, but I don't get these messages on e-mail which I normally would do.

I am using the old viewer. Do you think it would help to download 1.14 and use that? I have been afraid of using that version because of the reported problems, but I guess this would be a good day to try it.

Don't wait the time it says to wait. Whenever I get that message, I just immediately try to log in again, and by the second or third time, I'm in, regardless of the time the message indicates.

Possible solution comes to mind, if your friends can see you online and they are able to see your location in the map then they could locate your AV and maybe IM the land owner to kick you home.

I got locked out earlier, changed location still couldn't get in, I then went to classifieds on the website started clicking SURL's finally got in on the 3rd one. Still cant get home now, 3 hours later. Think allot of sims are having trouble. When I finally got in i'd been Ruthed and had most of my attachments stuck up my arse, but at least I was in world to see it.

Henry, I'm having a similar problem too, although I'm far newer. I've been around only about 10 days or so, and have had few problems, except the occasional crash. Today, after I crashed, upon logging in I was told that my home site wasn't available, and it TP'ed me somewhere close. I browsed around for a bit and eventually crashed again. Ever since then, I'm getting a new message while logging in that says Waiting for region handshake, then it pauses and ultimately says Unable to connect, Login packet never received by login server.

I'ved tried turning off the firewall, rebooting and reinstalling SL, but the same thing. I've tried also changing my location, but nothing is working. If anyone has advice, I'd really appreciate it.
