Is there a way to block my online status from the second life website?
I mean what good is it not allowing someone in SL to see my online status if they can go into sl website and see that I am online there?

Are you talking about friends seeing you online? I noticed when I was on the website there was a box that said which of my friends are online. I don't know if you can check to see if someone who is not on your friends list is online using the website. If you take your online status away from someone on your friends list, can they see you online on the website? If so they should fix that. :D

yes, I mean friends seeing me...I don't necessarily want to remove them from my friends list, I just sometimes don't want people knowing in am online...
but it seems the only way to not show up on the web page is to remove them...

You can uncheck a box under the friends tab --> you should see 3 boxes at the bottom, uncheck the first one. Ironically this won't solve the problem of friends IM'ing you if you are online and if you are, the message will of course go through.

I have the same problem, sometimes I wish to do something and not be IM'ed, my solution was to make an alt -- well worth the fee :)
