I was on a friend’s parcel few days ago, they rent it…. and dropped this Object I was working on, sort of like a semi fireworks emitter under a gazebo. Later, I picked up the Object but there are still particles floating around on the parcel of land where the gazebo sat. I’ve worked with View - Show Beacons and can see the little blue squares dancing around. I’ve been in the Debug menu and removed the ground display to see if anything is hidden below ground – nothing I can see. I’ve Ctrl-Alt-T to see it invisible textures – didn’t help me much. Since it’s not my land I can edit and Select all around it but I can’t grab them to delete. I feel bad because I bombed out their roof with this green and white goo and would really like to remove it. As a temp fix, I told them to View and uncheck Particles :D but I can’t settle for that. Any more suggestions or tips for me? Like never drop that object again?

try removing the surface patch and see if you can find the culprit.... try looking in objects there, like the gazebo, check to see if the script got dropped inside one of the prims there

Tick "select only my objects" then draw a big yellow box everywhere until you catch whatever it is and have it highlighted. Don't delete until you know you just have that one object so you don't delete things you own that you'd like to keep.
