Ok, I think my problem is the text going into the room is black not white, also the text in the drop down mwenu's isn't white, does anyone know how to make it white? Sorry i'm new to it all, thanks

Yeah, anything I or others type out of IM's is black, plus all text in the drop down menu's

I find it very unusual for drop down menus to be black text. That would possibly prevent Preferences from showing up, which is where I spotted a menu of colour codes for object, IM, URL and something else texts. I can imagine someone selecting black by mistake for IMs for example but the menus shouldn't be that vulnerable. If so, I can only suggest a uninstall/reinstall of SL making sure you remove the preferences settings wherever they may be.

Yeah no problems whatsoever before the update. I can't see anything in the menu's, if I run the cursor over it I can just about see it, but it's totally black. Have fully uninstalled & reinstalled sl, cache has been cleared etc

Have you check your Preferences to see whether an inappropriate color was accidentally selected?

Yeah I had some friends who've been here a while go through all of preferences. I can't see anyway to get it back to white, wondering if it's just me or others. Thanks for replying & trying to help I appreciate it, not being able to see things is driving me mad

Here's how it looks, on the screencap you can see abit of the top menu's but you can't in sl, the bottom half of the drop down menu is what the rest are all like, nothing
