Complete Mainland Sim destroyed

One SIM completely gone, like 80-90 percent of all prims gone to nirvana, not even back in the lost and found folders of the owners, sim looking like the surface of the moon. Wouldn't that be a good reason for a rollback, even on mainland? Liason says "sorry, no rollbacks on mainland".

Had someone such things happening to him before? Any experiences to share, how to proceed? I mean this isn't a little parcel owner messing up his house and asking for a rollback, for heavens sake, the whole sim is destroyed!

I had a similar problem when prims that were mine were returned from my own land after seeking help from the Lindens i was told, 1 it was impossible to happen, tho i proved my case and 2 no way i cud have a rollback as it was mainland. I even got all the other people in the sim to agree with it but even with all the sim parcel owners which was 4 at the time LLs they still said NO.

Thats the disadvantage to the mainland, Lindens are totally unsympathetic when things like this happen on the mainland, why do you think the TOS is weighted to LLs so when this happens along with all the other stuff like losing inventory it doesnt cost them any money in compensation and they have something to hide behind rather than dealing with the issue, but thats just my opinion based on what ive seen and the way things are settled here.

Sorry to hear about the mess but get him to grit his teeth and rebuild cos LLs wont help one jot! :(

What??

That is unbelievable that LL would watch a whole sim go "bye-bye" and not lift a finger to help...I mean, did the sim destroy itself? LL should be held accountable. It could happen to any mainland dweller and that's a very sobering thought with all the time, energy and MONEY that people spend.

Well, if it is true that truly sucks. Sorry for the lost items.

I imagine the reason LL won't roll back a mainland region is simply the precedent it would start. One here, one there, no big deal. Once done, it wouldn't be very fair to deny anyone else.. yet does anybody know how many regions there are currently on the mainland continents?

Well I sure would demand a good reason for a rollback request - but hey, this is a complete destroyed sim, all landowners are victims, lost most of their stuff. Its not like a rollback would destroy something for anyone, because in this case there simply is nothing left to destroy.

Which sim?

On any other day than today, I would be appalled by this post and assume, without second thought, that it was true.

Today, however, I'm bracing myself for the punchline.

Just visited, and it looks to be true. At the borders of the sim, there are plenty of houses, In the sim itself there is only one house (which could have been put up today), some motorbikes, and some random prims that could have been walls. It looks like a giant sandbox :/

Just tried to TP there and after taking five steps the sim went down. Didn't have time to read the whole warning message.

Gonna wait a few minutes and try a return visit to see what, if anything, changed.

rollbacks happen, even on the mainland
04-01-2007 14:29
Tho LL wont give you a mainland rollback for some minor thing, they sure as heck will do it for a major screwup in the system.

I can believe in the OP's story. What I can't believe is that the Lindens really solved something, and so fast, for a change.

Mia Linden came over and looked at the place, and my friend, who owns 1/4 of the sim, gave notecards to all other landowners asking them to complain, too. Don't know what in the end did it, but the sim is running again, and big losses for many people were avoided.
