I will be buying a tower....

"It has a 30x30m base, 30x30m=900sq.m, but also requires 996 free prims"

How much land will I need and how much will it cost me a month?

i don't have a conclusive answer for you, but i can tell you that 996 prims will require a lot more land than the actual base of the tower will require. hopefully someone else will be able to answer this more succinctly. :)

My home (including furnishings) is 450 prims sitting on a 2048m2 plot of land, and I have 20 or 30 prims still available. I pay $15 usd a month for that.

Based on what you're describing it sounds like you'd need 4096 m2 just for the tower, costing you $25 usd a month. If you want to put anything in the tower it'll push you into the next tier, $40 a month for up to 8192 m2

You didn't say what the purpose of the tower is, but between buying all that land (probably upwards of $L 35,000) and that kind of monthly maintenance I would hope you have some real economic potential in mind for your development.

A 4096m parcel, carries 937 prims. So if you can't save 60 prims somewhere, you will need to go to the next tier up. of 8192m.

Bear in mind also that the tower itself is most likely unfurnished. Allow at least an additional 200 to 500 prims so you'll have room to install some personal posessions, or the interior of your tower will be as barren as the inside of a grain silo. You'll also need to allocate some prims for landscaping with plants around the tower's base, unless you plan to have it sitting in a barren field of sand. 50 or so should do nicely.

To plant a tower that big, I'd go ahead and get a full 8192 M2 of land, or just a little under that. As stated, that will make your monthly membership tier fees $40 USD per month, assuming that you don't own any other land at all.

I would go for at LEAST a 8912..more if you can swing it. 8912 will run you $40 USD per month (plus premium account fees) and provide near 2000 prims (cant remember the exact amount). For a tower made of that many prims, if you plan on having much in or around it at all, I would go for the largest plot thats practical for you.
