Land parcel dimensions?

How are the square meters of a parcel of land mapped into X,Y widths? For example, a First Land plot is 512 square meters. Would that be a perfect square (22.627blah meters a side)? Or would it be rectangular?

Thanks for any help. I've been searching for an answer all morning with no success.

It varies. There is no set shape. "Square" is a special case of "rectangular", but not only are such plots not always square, they`re not even always rectangular. Sometimes they just have weird shapes. That said, I`d have to be of the opinion that "non-square rectangular" is the usual shape, generally nearly [but not quite] square.

The only constant is that land is composed of 4Mx4M squares, or 16M^2. A plot of land can be any shape, as long as it's composed of 4x4 squares.

So a 512M^2 lot is composed of 32 squares. Since the square root of 32 is not an integer,it's impossible to have a square plot of land that measures 512 square meters. If I recall, first land plots are generally 4 squares wide (16 meters) by 8 squares long (32 meters). a little quick math 16M*32M=512M.

Thank you both. I hadn't come across the 4x4 m minimum size number before; knowing that makes it all a lot clearer.
