AV Moves Forward Automatically

Odd behavior of the AV moving forward automatically.

I'd seen this before a couple of times in the last couple of weeks
ago. But it went away.

Now it's all the time. The AV moves a few steps forward every
couple of seconds (or flys forward).

Stop All Animations doesn't stop it. All HUDs, AO's detached.
Rebooting. Cache cleared.

Anyone seen this before?

THis happens to my av once in a while and i find the only thing that really helps is a quick relog.

After logging out and in a few more times...and tp'ing to other sims...the problem persisted last night.

But today...logged in...and the problem is gone.

Interesting.

I get this sometimes. My AV just keeps on walking, and nothing will stop her!! She'll keep on going, through walls or anything that is in the way, and then she will walk down literally through the floor. Only thing that stops it is to log off and come back a couple of hours later!!

This happens to me a lot. It's very annoying.

My avi doen't have this problem, but I do have a similar problem.

Sometimes if I change my camera angle and zoom in on someone while I'm talking to them, then they walk away...my camera follows them until I stop it by moving my avi...which changes the pov

Not a big deal, and maybe it's normal. Just thought I'd mention it.

That is something different from the OP's problem. The "keeps walking" (or "keeps flying";) bug is triggered by crossing a sim border. For whatever reason I get this a lot, especially in busy places. I can NEVER cross the border in a Welcome Area without plowing into the ground. (In fact I saw it happen to Raudf just yesterday when we both went to check out the griefing event in Korea.)

In my experience it usually resolves itself in about 20-30 seconds, but can sometimes take 1-2 minutes and send me across another 2-3 sims (and even into non-existent regions). In all cases I eventually wake up from the dream state, finding myself back within about 10m of the border where it all went wrong.

Yes, this is normal, at least in my experience.

When you change you camera angle, the place you clicked with your mouse becomes the focus point. If you focus on something than can move (like an av), your focus will move when that object or person moves.

You can try this with your own av and a poseball. Sit on the poseball, then use the camera to look at yourself. Adjust the camera again, making sure to do it by clicking on your av. Now stand up, and the camera will jump to keep your av in the same position relative to the camera.

Now try again, but make the last focus point somewhere on the furniture itself. When you get up, the camera won't jump.

Aha so that's what happened when I was checking out Serenity Falls and later Rua..one moment I'm flying along admiring the scenery the next I'm hurtling into (and out the other side) some hill, followed rapidly by a trip along and into the ocean bed. I just hit the 'X' button and logged back in a little while later that seemed to sort it.

Yep, that's exactly it. Usually relogging isn't necessary if you are willing to wait a minute or so. I usually just enjoy the adventure in the meantime.

It seems to be a problem with the sim-to-sim handoff. I notice when it happens to me, my sim coordinates (at the top of the screen) still list the original sim and the coordinate numbers in relation to it. If you are traveling east or south, you even go into negative numbers!
