help!

where can i report and get someone banned who keeps attacking me with something that keeps killing me and i cant even log in anymore..

Help at the top of the SL window...then Report Abuse.

Yummy, you could try logging in at a different location. Once you're in, in Prefs make sure that Make My Online Status Visible Only to my Friends is checked (I'm assuming this griefer isn't on your Friends List!). It might also be worth checking your attachments (Edit then Detach Object) in case he has attached some sort of bug to you. I have no idea whether this is, in fact, possible but I have a touching faith in the ability of scripters to do anything.

Failing everything else - create an alt.

You do not need to log in to change your Preferences. You can do that fromt eh login screen. You're looking for the "Show Start Location on Login Screen" option on the General tab.

Not to change your login location, no, but you do need to to change "Make my online status visible to my Friends" and anything to do with logging chat or IMs

Wait....I missed that part on first read.

If someone corrupted your account via a scripted object (ie they hit you with a weapon and now your account is unuseable) then submit a Ticket via the Support portal on the SL website. This would constitute a exploit of the system in my opinion.

If you Ticket it under "exploit", then give a VERY VERY VERY detailed explaination of what happened to the best of your knowledge. Exploits are taken very seriously by LL. They through up all sorts of red flags and will even wake Lindens up in the middle of the night. False exploit reports are a great way to get yourself perm-banned because of this.

If you are unsure if this is an exploit or not, submit a Ticket through Support using another avenue. If you are a Premium Account, try the Live Chat in Support. (Not sure if it's manned over teh weekend though.)

A report through Support may not get the person banned, but they will help you with your account if you're having problems logging in.

I would also suggest that you use the preferences button on the login screen to clear your cache prior to attempting to log into a new location. Once you tell it to clear cache (under the network tab in preferences), you will need to close the screen and reopen it to clear the cache. This should clear anything in cache that might be corrupted and causing issues.

Further, try to stay away from areas with the little red heart at the top if you don't want to be 'killed' and sent home (where does it send you if you have no home set?). If its your own land you were being killed on, you might consider having the setting in About Land - Options for 'Safe (no damage) turned on. If its not, find someplace that is 'safe' to hang out.

Actual answer: I believe your birthplace is your home until you set one somewhere else. For most avs that would be the Welcome Center where you rezzed after leaving Orientation Island or Help Island the first time. However, if you teleport somewhere directly from OI/HI, then I believe that will be your home location. (I think that's how one of my alts ended up with my non-group land as her home location, even though I couldn't deliberately do it for another one.)

Only if you're a European. Americans will be tp'd to London, Paris or Berlin. When they buy an air ticket home, their credit card company or bank will charge them for processing a transaction abroad.

When I first installed SL, I did not have payment on file (I wanted to try it out before I paid for it.) After I finished with Help Island, I did a search for "asian" and went to a korean sim. From that point on, Korea was my home location until I purchased land and set up a new home location.

Until you set a Home Point it is ~supposed~ to be the first place you TP to on the Mainland (One of the 3. Private islands are ~supposed~ to be excluded from that.).

Of course, in SL, anything ~supposed~ to be is ona flip-a-coin chance *smirks*

thanks guys..and yes..it was my home land that i was sent this..whatever it was..someone saw it happen and there was an ivisible prim attached to me, they deleted it, hasnt happened since..i did file an abuse report, but these ppl have been reported so many times, and still are here. anyway..ex bf's can SURE be mean!
