Greetings, all. I'm "Hotspur O'Toole" and I am a resident of Caledon. I have been a resident of Caledon for some months now and have become involved in various Second Life Relay For Life events. Just for fun, I started an event that involves the REAL LIFE slush pile (rejected manuscripts) from ISSAC ASIMOV'S SCIENCE FICTION MAGAZINE. I have placed memorable (and sometimes unintentionally hilarious) first sentences from said slush pile on my blog, "Hibernia on the Skids" -

The contest is to take a sentence or sentences from the "Steampunk Slush Pile" and expand it into a workable paragraph in the same style. I will run the event until it (in my estimation) 'runs out of steam', pun veyr much intended. At that point I will have a judges panel evaluate the top three contestants.. the first place winner will have a 500 Linden donation made to SL RFL in his or her name (I wish it could be more, but I'm not made of Lindens. If someone would like to match my amount, contact me inworld).

The contest was originally written for Caledon citizens but why not expand it for all SL ctizens? So if you are interested in "Slushing for the Cure" please visit the webpage for details:

Tsk, a "mad" icon about a very silly contest that is quite fun. Yes, the thread with probably be moved to Resident Run Websites, but it is hardly as if he is either a)making money at this or b)doing anything crude.

Hardly worth being upset about. And I did two very silly goes at it, myself

It is posted to Resident Run Websites as well, which is why it got the mad smiley :). If the OP hadn't cross-posted it could have been a simply mistake, cross-posting makes it intended.
