Hi.
We are some folks that wants to connect our regions with pathways. Everytime we connect the prims that meet between the regions goes Phantom and we cant change it
Does anyone know what we should do to, if there is anything to do about it?

Sadly, there is no way to cross the region line with a single prim. What you have to do it take two prims, and kind of 'meet' at the region line. I'm not sure exactly why this happens, but I think it's related to why trying to drive a prim vehicle across some region lines causes the vehicle to either go out of control or explode.

Moving from one sim to another....think of it this way. Your viewer knows the prims in your original sin (errr. Original SIM, sorry ) ...until you move to the next sim, the prim you WILL be standing on isn't loaded into your local viewer by the next sim's server. So there's a noticable delay in "the perception of things to stand upon" as you move from one sim to another. How to minimize this problem: Prims are positioned according to their 'center'--so their outer most portions can overlap onto the next sim. Put down ONE SIM on EACHof your regions, with its center as close to the SIM boundary as you can make it. Have the two prims lay on top of each other. YOu can make one or both invisible after they are positioned. Try this with a 10x10x10 cube, that's been heavily top sheared and flattened to make a 10x20x.01 shape. Overlap two of them. ----------|----- ........----|---------- Sort of like this. As you walk out onto one of the prims, you'll be able to walk across the sim line on the prim from the original sim...hopefullly, the sim underneath you (from the new sim) will rez in time for you to not fall through the floor.

This is a feature of SL that I really enjoy. Being the proud owner of land on adjacent sims and having a sky bridge between them, I think it is great fun to fall through the "hole" between the sims (I have put up warning signs for visitors though.) Try it at 600 metres or so up and practice sky diving - ok, I know I'm just a big kid.

From: Robustus Hax Linden needs to fix this baloney Not exactly an easy task, the fact is works as well as it does is, frankly, impressive. NO other MMPORPG handles such server boundaries All other games use some form of zoning, WoW uses a transparent form but it's still zoning.

If I'm not mistaken (I could be, I don't know!) region crossing is just a 'seamless' teleportation. I've had days were the teleports would fail and because of them failing, all region crossings would fail too. In fact, I believe the 'error' message for a failed region crossing states something about failed to teleport?

I make bridges and floors that cross region boundries. It really isn't that difficult. As far as the sims are concerned, prims sticking into them from other sims are all phantom. You fall through because the new sim hasn't had time to tell you yet that there is a floor uner you. The trick is to have some overlap. I normally use two extra prims, to make sure it works well. On each side, make your bridge or walkway or floor. Make the edges meet at the sim boundry. Make a transparent prim on side A. Link it to the side A floor, then adjust the position so it sticks over into sim B, overlapping the floor prim on that side. Make a transparent prim on side B. Link it to the side B floor, then adjust the position so it sticks over into sim A, overlapping the floor prim on that side. Now, when you walk from one side to the other, either sim knows where you should have a floor for at least that one prim's distance into the next sim. By the time you're walking on that prim, you're in the other sim and the new sim has had time to tell you that you have a floor under you on that side too. Note that you MUST, link the prim before you push it's center over the line. You can not link a prim in one sim to a prim in the other.

In fact, I believe the 'error' message for a failed region crossing states something about failed to teleport? The coding will probably be similar although some data will be preloaded for a sim crossing as you can see into those areas. A TP will (usually) have to load the data and thus the blank screen.
