Can HTML be used in scripts or any other device in second life?

This post maybe better answered by putting it into the scripting forum. To my knowledge, SL's client cannot render HTML, but you can use SLurls to link HTML content from within SL to create a link to a internet website, which when clicked, will open your native internet browser. In reverse, you can link HTML pages to SL content such as Landmarks, which will give you a TP point on the SL map, or port a limited amount of information into SL from a webhost server. I have seen that LL are planning to develop this further and allow HTML to be rezzed onto prims, much the same way as media (movies) are currently. The first step to openning up this avenue, was the inclusion of the Web tab in your profile. I sincerely hope, LL consider openning up a pipeline to allow Flash versions with activescripting to be used in SL. This alone will create a whole new and powerful form of inactivitey between SL and the internet, blurring the boundaries. However, this would require a more secure environment, to avert potential security breaches. Much the same way as the release of multi stream compression techniques that Apple Quicktime introduced, allowed greater potential, it also openned up a security hole whereby undesireable programmes/data can be piggy backed on a legitimet stream to your system without you knowing.
