Invisible barrier?

Hi,
I've got a rather strange problem with one of my land plots... I dismantled the rather rickety building I'd had there for a while yesterday, and flattened the land out, ready for a rebuild. However, it appears that there's now some kind of invisible barrier across the land. (It's a 512 First Land rectangle) This barrier is about halfway down the land. I can get round it by simply walking onto next door's land and walking round it - but it's a pain.
Viewing transparent shows nothing there, and "About Land" says there are no objects...
I'm a bit baffled - any help much appreciated.
(It's probably something really simple and I'll feel a bit silly when someone points it out.)
Edit: It now appears I'm in an invisible box. I can't fly any higher than about three metres either...
2nd Edit: It's beginning to look like the barriers that are preventing movement are a "ghost" of the previous building! But there's still nothing there!
Cheers,

I've seen this kind of thing too - my friend has a particular object in her inventory which she noticed wasn't appearing whenever she attempted to rez it. However, the physics engine behaves as if the item is there (even several days later). She bug-reported it, and even demoed the phenomena to a linden.
I later discovered - by chance - that I had the same item in my inventory, and when I rezzed it at home I got exactly the same effect too! This all happened about a month ago, and I've got no idea if the issue has been fixed yet as I haven't attempted rezzing one of these items for a while (once the initial novelty wears off, you find that having pan-dimensional prims scattered around your home can be *really* annoying!)
Unfortunately we discovered that you're pretty much stuck with the corrupted physics until your region is reset, at which point the "ghost objects" are removed.
(and no, I'm not mentioning what the item is called - if this problem hasn't been fixed yet, it's a griefer toy waiting to happen!)

Hi Shep,
Thanks for that - at least it's not just me going off my head (which I did start to think was a distinct possibility). I'll just leave the land alone for a few days and see what happens.
Cheers,
Flange.

Have you tried using About Land to return all objects on the parcel? (That is, if that dialog detects any prims.)
Maybe thats enough to trick the sim into righting itself without a full reset.

I was walking along a road in the sim where I live when i happened to run into a physics ghosted SUV. Rather annoying.

With Shep's post, have you tried re-rezzing the object and then taking it back into your inventory? This -may- get the sim to realise that the object isn't there anymore.
Of course, this -may- also jsut give you TWO of these things to deal with until sim reset, so I'd advise caution.
The other option is to wait till Monday and ask in Live Help (or Help Request? I forget thenew nomenclature already) for Linden assistance in a possible region restart.
Oh, and please file a Bug Report on this with the name of that object for the tech heads to look over. Maybe they can find a way to prevent this in teh future.

From: Strife Onizuka I was walking along a road in the sim where I live when i happened to run into a physics ghosted SUV. Rather annoying. Did you get the Ghosted licence number? I had a Similar problem on one of my Build sites where i had a One Meter Cube i kept running in to, and there was Nothing there. It was persent (or is NOT present) for about three days then it Vanished.... Well, it was already Vanished, but then it disappeared,,,,, Well, it wasn't there for three days but i kept tripping on it, then it was Gone. Ok, I have a headache now. But yes, it's a Bug. a Rare, and Old one, But i've never heard of it being 512 meters before, or being so persistantly (Non-)present. There was Nothing i could do to affect it Physicly, because it simply wasn't there. All you can do is wait for it to Disolve of it's own accord. Angel.

I had just rezzed a new set of stairs on my land. As I was walking up the stair, I hit a prim that wasn't there. I t wasn't there again today - I wish that prim would go away!

You can also get this effect, but usually on a much larger scale, if someone has left a giant prim object and your visibility distance is set less than half the size of it. I saw this with a 256M single prim sphere.
My viewing distance was set to 300m but the owner's was set to 100m and she couldn't see it until upping her viewing distance.
We both ran into it though. Nasty thing.

I'd wondered where'd I'd left it! From: Angelique LaFollette .. It was present (or is NOT present) for about three days then it Vanished.... I was going to suggest tp-ing to just outside the object and pushing onto a neighbour's plot who has auto-return on. What a shame SL defies the laws of physics .... um .. on second thoughts ... no .. but it's a pain sometimes
