Hi

I would like to know what to do in the situation where you have bought and paid for an item for your avatar but not received the item in the inventory - probably due to SL problems.

The seller does not respond to IMs!

If the seller is a busy it could be that their IM's are capped. Try politely writing your problem on a note card and dropping on their profile.

Also they might be busy iRL or on vacation or whatever, so give it a few days. RL happens.

Thanks for your replies.

I'll try the note card-suggestion once I figur out how.

I don't think the seller was busy/gone in real life. Her avetar were present (in busy mode) in the store when I IM'ed her.

Is it possible to complaint to Linden Lab if the notecard doesn't work or do I just have to accept the loss?

If the merchant was in busy mode, it's unlikely they were aware of your presence just yet. Do give them a bit of time to respond. I know when I am in busy mode, it usually means my screen is covered with inventory and message windows, and I can't see the new stuf coming in, or the people around me.

Open the merchant's profile, or locate them with the search feature. Either will show you their profile, and there is a place on the profile, near the bottom, where you can drop inventory items to give them.

Make a new notecard, edit it to contain your request for customer service, and give it a title that makes sense, and includes your name. For example I might name it "Ceera Murakami - Boots not delivered". Make the request a polite one, and you'll be more likely to get a positive response. Most merchants can check their records, verify that you paid them and they will replace the failed delivery.

Unfortunately, product delivery has been erratic recently, no matter what vending system you use. The most advanced network vendors as well as simple one-prim "Sell Contents" boxes have had trouble delivering the goods.

i have seen plenty of times lately (esp. during periods of peak usage) where customers have bought items from me (with my vendors emailing delivery confirmations to me), but the customer calls wondering where their item is...

as much of a pain as it is, the first thing to do is clear cache, relog, and refresh your inventory (by typing 'asdf' or whatever keyboard garble into the inventory's search field).

nine out of ten, the item eventually appears in the customer's inventory. :)
