Strife, since you are determined to lock all the interesting threads, please give us links to these 3rd party fourms.

Thx Shack :)

SecondCitizen is the only 3rd party forum I sometime participate in (never enough time). After the discussion forum were closed, most of the tr-... i mean regulars went there.

A plethora of third party forums have cropped up. Some have a lot of the same folks, some quite different. Besides Second Citizen, these ones I've seen:

http://www.sluniverse.com/forums/

http://forums.slhomepage.com/

http://boards.stratics.com/php-bin/sl/ubbthreads.php

http://yaslf.com/

http://www.sldrama.com/index.php?action=forum

http://www.sl-forums.com/

http://secondlifes.com/forum/

Of course there are many others.

I would say Strife should grow up, and not call residents trolls.

Did he say "trolls"? I thought he said "trouble makers". :)

This has often been one of Strife's issues. I was under the impression Torley told him to correct it. I guess another AR is in order.

I have heard this kind of junk ever since Strife was made one of the resmods, but never have I seen anyone back it up with facts.

I am a resmod myself on another forum now with quite stricter although similar rules to this one and despite all the complaining about his work, I have found Strife to be a fairly controlled and even handed character. Once or twice, (like all of us) he could (maybe) be said to have gotten a little cranky or personal but absolutely nothing of the same order of the people who mostly complain about him.

To me, it's simple common sense that if the people doing the complaining about a resmod are themselves guilty of far worse transgressions, then their complaints are virutally valueless, n'est pas?

I'll have to look up the email I sent Torley, but I had at least four examples taken within a week where Strife either outright attacked another resident or closed a thread with a severely inappropriate/condescending remark as rationale.

Trust me, there's evidence.

And being a resmod means you don't get to be cranky. You're supposed to work at a higher standard than the rest of the posters.

hey guys, let's not turn this in to a troll thread about trolls.

If Strife did something inappropriate, the only place you should be talking about it is directly to Strife or to a Linden. Complaining to other users about someone else here in the forums is in rather poor taste.

I have, and I don't think it is.

Like being told it's in poor taste ever stopped them.

Some folks just like to complain, for whatever reasons. Perhaps one reason is that complaining about problems external to one's self, real, perceived or otherwise, offers an attractive diversion from having to focus on one's own problems.

Be that as it may, I tend to take the tack of ignoring them, because debating them just does not work at all. They want to be unhappy, that's why they're still here despite the fact that most of the chronic complainers behave as if they despise Linden Lab through and through. If they were truly so unhappy, they'd go away, and you'd never hear from them again. It's internet fuckwad theory to some degree, in my opinion. You'd think that LL policy decisions and forum moderation issues profoundly affect some of these people's first lives, the way they carry on.

It's all going to be moot soon anyway. This subforum will get shut down soon enough. I am convinced that a flurry of ARs have occurred pertaining to this subforum in the past week or so, as a couple of tattletale types have been complaining about the state of things here, so, not surprisingly, the moderators have awakened from their slumber. On the other side of that coin, some people just refuse to follow the forum rules, and when LL and their woefully adequate modkids come and police things finally, it's too little, too late, and causes a huge outcry from the "freedom of speech" brigade.

It's a weird cycle, and not one I have seen before on any set of forums other than these... Let people have unprecedented freedom, sit back and watch them abuse it, they eventually start tearing each other to pieces, start threads inappropriate to the particular subforum (sometimes intentionally to agitate), etc., which is allowed to go on for too long, then F Troop rides in and starts randomly 'moderating'. This action is inevitably followed by much catewauling about freedom of speech, claims that LL does not care what we think, and then ultimately the toy being taken away altogether.

Jeremiah, are all those popular? Some of the forums seem very... vacant.

Thank you for the clarification ArchTx but really i ment tribbles. Tribbles are truly fascinating creatures (Their biology and reproductive cycles are very similar to that of alt accounts). :) But enough about cute and adorable tribbles (wonders if someone has a tribble avatar).

If the thread continues about me, it will have to die (naming names, private discussion). It was put of for LR by another mod (which is how it came to my attention in the first place).
