I fell through the ground in Help Island

Here I was,, walking along minding my own business, when I noticed I was sinking into the ground. I tried to jump and fly but it wouldn't work. I found myself stuck UNDER Help Island and my AV was in a running mode. I tried logging off, and when I logged on again I appeared in the same underground area with a message saying something to the effect of,, "You have bee temporaily moved to a different area." Some kind of problem where I was initially walking I guess.

I found my self alone, in a place with an orange sky, a platform with an overhead and a road that went no where. There was a map in the corner the I couldn't get to work no matter how I touched it. I "IM'd" a friend who offered to teleport me to his location but he's on the Main Island now. What other choice did I have?

Now I'm in a night club "Aces High" (thats where he was. He left shortly after.) in a mature section (can't remember the name right now) not knowing what to do next. I really wasn't ready for the mainland yet. Still haven't even tried to change clothes and not sure how. From what I've read I can't go back to Help Island. Looks like my adventure is starting sooner than anticipated but I fear that I'm at a disadvantage.

What do I do now? Any suggestions?????????????????

There is a public help island. You can find it by going to map and type 'public help island' in the 'region' search box.

You can always ask a Linden to help (use life help), maybe they can bring you back.

If that is not possible, send me a IM when you are in game. As soon I am home from work, I will "track you down" (if you then still are in game by then) and I will try to make your start in "big bad world" out there a bit easier.

When you're starting to sink into the ground (or seemingly walk through buildings or on air for that matter) you're experiencing sim lag (the puter running the region you're on can't keep up anymore for whatever reason). It's something that either corrects itself and you'll snap back to where you were (commonly referred to as "rubberbanding" or the sim eventually crashes.

If you log off and reappear somewhere else entirely with the message you received that's an indication that the sim you were on did actually crash and you probably already did end up on the mainland at that point. I know this doesn't really help but at least you know what happened since you're likely to have it happen again sooner or later.

Use live help to get a Linden (liason) to maybe tp you back over like someone suggested, but otherwise the mainland isn't all that scary and there's plenty of people willing to help or answer any questions .

Thanks for all of the advise. I'll probably stay on the main island. All I really need to know right now is how to change clothes, buy things and navigate. I'll most likely take you up on your offer Morwen. I'll send you an IM.

I don't think I stayed on Help Island for more than 5 minutes LOL. I was off and running (naked with a box on my head) immediately, which was scary but...all's well that ends well
