Bin a long time since we rock and rolled.
It's just about useless except for sim boundaries and avatar dots.
May as well get rid of it.

I think Robin Linden meantioned at the last town hall that LL are are working on fixing it so hopefully it will function properly again at some point. Personally I think if they are devoting their time and resources to addressing more urgent technical issues then the map can be put at the bottom of the que.

Yep, you are most probably correct.
A search for map update showed some very old threads concerning trouble with the map.
So it is nothing new and appears won't be fixed until sometime in April 2019.
