Can you have an all picture signature for the forums? And if you can how big can it be?

Excerpt from the relevant User Control Panel page: "The maximum size of your custom image is 50 by 50 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)."

On the referenced page you can upload or link to the picture you want to use.

I believe Ricky is referring to the "avatar" image that appears on the left under your name in each post. I've seen and therefore created a larger image for my signature as you see below. In addition, you may use a 100x100px image for your forum profile.

This forum style seems to perform best with "Signature" images of about 500px wide by 200px tall.. max. Anything taller is kind of hogging real estate. Anything wider pushes the forum template out of shape a tad. Bodhisatva Paperclip's signature is 500x200.. so you can see how large that size is, and how you can do quite a bit with that kind of space.

The "Avatars" (<---- over there) are limited to 50x50 as I recall.

Thanks to those who replied, but now how do I upload the image? (lol)

Edit: I better add one more question: And once I uploaded it can I make it linkable?

<--- that image over there.. you upload using this link:
http://forums.secondlife.com/profile.php?do=editavatar

| This image down here, you have to secure you own hosting for. But once
| you have it "on the web" simply visit this link:
\/ and encase the URL for the image, in [IMG]tags.

Edit: to make it linkable, enclose the [IMG]tags in (you can do it all in one line. Note.. I used [/ IMG] and [/ URL] in my example, but that space shouldn't be there when you do it.)">tags..
Example:
[IMG]http://temp.zebragrrl.com/secondlife/winter-ventura-sig.jpg
[/ IMG]
[/ URL]
(you can do it all in one line. Note.. I used [/ IMG] and [/ URL] in my example, but that space shouldn't be there when you do it.)

Maybe the forum defaults to no signature/no avatar.

Yes, you are right. Apologies for misunderstanding the question.

I totally forgot about the sigs itself, because I have turned them off. As beautiful as some of them are, the more eyecatching ones tend to distract me from reading the contributions (but maybe that's just me).
