I don't want the voice update I have heard it removes chat history and I don't have a mic.
Can I avoid the update?
Anyone know?

My chat history is still there from before I downloaded the Voice client. You have the choice of activating Voice.

You don't have to download the voice-enabled viewer at all. It's optional.
Much as I hate RTFM replies, I feel compelled to point out that this and many other questions were answered in big Linden Blog entry announcing it.

Thanks for those who were kind enough to answer politiely.
I am glad its optional.
I asked because I am not feeling well and I don't want to even look at the Linden's Blog.
I don't feel like searching and using the messed up forum search either and spending hours trying to decipher and screen every possible post on anything related to voice.

FD Spark: the latest update is optional. even if you install that, voice is disabled as default. take care and be well.

Thanks Randal. I logged in several times didn't download it.
Boy things though are buggy tonight. Even for my friends who downloaded the optional viewer that was supposively there to improve performance.
