No no the blog closes when it gets full. Generally 100 is the lucky number but I've seen them go higher and as exemplified tonight, they can also go lower.

Did this always happen like this? even way back in beta? Just to be clear, the blog is not closed. Comments on a particular post are closed. Closing the comments on a particular SL blog post is not unusual. In fact, it is standard operation for them to close comments when it hits a certain number, or when LL feels the comments are no longer germane to the original post. |

sl's blog hits critical mass at 100 moans. some comments sections are not opened for comments cause they are just busy saying what done broke now and that they are working on it. At first it was allowed to go past 100 moans but I seem to remember them having to cap it so that california would not break off and fall into the ocean or something.

I think the actual explanation was that stray complaint threads were eating a hole in the ozone layer above San Francisco. _____________________

I think the actual explanation was that stray complaint threads were eating a hole in the ozone layer above San Francisco. All of the servers have been moved to different network hardware and will be coming back online as normal. no wonder they moved it ![]() _____________________

It used to be allowed to go to 500 responses, I think.
They don't want to read that many people. coco _____________________

OK, I went to read the blog.
It has been interesting, to follow the blog since its inception. Always a lot of complaints, of course, and also a lot of woo-hoos. With this recent blog entry, though, where they apparently forgot they'd left responses open until they came back at 76 and closed them, there is almost no positive response from residents there at all. There's sympathy here and there, but no positive response. People say things like: ________ . "The constant tinkering is wrecking the experience." . "Leave us alone, and work on a whole new platform." . "It’s really time for the new shiny to stop and the serious look at stability to take place. Tao schmao. Fix it or take a hike." ______ I would think the Lindens are now aware of the problems, and are also aware that - if approval ratings were given for the Lindens (and somebody ought to start such a thing) - they would be very low right now. But there is something additional we can do. The Project Open Letter is starting a new phase. As it says on the site: _____ "It has been a little over three months since the original letter was sent to Linden Lab, and both sadly and not so surprisingly, things have gotten worse. It is time to take drastic immediate action. Planning has begun for the next steps to take. If you would like to be involved in this process, watch this space for updates on when in-world and also forum chat meetings will be scheduled." http://www.projectopenletter.com/ ______ The first phase of the project - the first letter - got 4,974 signatures, which is a huge response in any kind of a campaign. (You can still sign the letter, too, so be sure and do that.) Now let's move on with this project (it isn't my project; I just signed it) into Phase II. I think they will pay more attention to this than they do to blog comments they don't intend to get, or those they cut off, or forums they may or may not ever read. (Even reports of how the grid is running seem to come to them much later than we are aware of it.) But we can make a difference with Project Open Letter, I think, and help turn the tide toward LL prioritizing for a more stable grid. coco _____________________
