I have got a problem with the tutorials. I had done them completely, the passport button came but I havent clicked it. I closed the game instead. When I opende it again later, I had to do all tutorials again. But the problem is: The "move-tutorial", where I just have to walk into the sign, doesnt work!!! I stand directly into the target, but the mission doesnt go to status completed...
Can anyone help me??? I use the alpha-version of the linux-client, I hope that this isnt the problem...

Try Help Request?

I have no idea why this isn't working for you, Fara, but since nobody else has replied yet, the best answer I can think of is to try the 'live' Help Request (while it still exists! It's in the Help menu at the top of the viewer, and opens up an IM. Start with something to the point, like, "Can't get off Orientation Island, even tho I've done all the Tutorials - please HELP!" hopefully someone will respond within 5 or 10 minutes BTW - congrats on finding the Forums as a new resident! You'll find lots of useful information here

I've been having the same issue. if I leave I have to do everything all over again. I can complete everything, but Jabba the Hut in the COMMUNICATE area won't interact with me so I can complete them.

Orientation Island has changed since I (and others on the Forum I guess) were new residents; that is probably why you're not getting many replies.
One option I seem to remember in the past (I don't know if you'll be able to do it in the new OI) is just to Teleport out of there onto the main grid.
If your Search Tools work, use the Places search and try looking for 'New Citizen' (to take you to New Citizen's plaza). There are other freebie places for new people, but I can't think of any others that have help info as well - maybe other Forum members will be able to help.
Or, if you look in your Inventory (and also the Library folder) under Landmarks, you may find some Landmarks already installed for you. Just double-click on them and then click the 'teleport' button to go there - and you'll be on the main grid!
Good luck!

In fact, that's how I did it too. When I first started (not very long ago , at that moment, NONE of the tutorials worked!! Must have been some bug at the time. So, I was stuck on Orientation Island until I eventually found out how to get off, just by TP'in myself out of to somewhere else in SL, and that's when I finally could start living my SL. I eventually learned my way around in SL without the tutorials... Good luck!

This is strange. a few weeks ago i created a alt to test the new orientation islands. They seamed to work fine for me, except for if you get logged out or relog you have to start over again from the beginning of the tutorials.

This is a new 'feature' implimented by LL to test the frustration level of the new residents. Those unable to withstand the frustrations of "orientation island" obviously aren't going to make it on the main grid. With more then 5.5 million 'residents', this is just one way LL weeds out the weak.

When I first did the tutorials, the various tasks would clear when I hadn't done them yet, and spontaneously unclear after I had done them.
I don't know if there is any fix to it. When I decided I had learned all I wanted to, I started searching for a way off the island, found it (to some sort of newbie land), and left. None of the tutorials are mandatory. Even the ones that are mandatory are not mandatory.
An unclear tutorial system may explain all the clueless newbies walking around. But that's another issue.

An unclear tutorial system may explain all the clueless newbies walking around. But that's another issue. I'm afraid they've changed the orientation process since you went through it. There are four mandatory tasks, and you have to teleport out in order to leave. But you need to get a 'passport'. However ... when you get your passport, and try to teleport out, it only gives you a teleport to 'Help Island'. But when you try and teleport ... you end up getting disconnected. So, you log back in ... and then all your completed tutorials are gone. So, you go around and try to complete them quickly, since you know how. Only, this time ... it won't give you credit for all of them ... no matter how many times you take that damn torch out of your inventory. GAH!!!! I'm frustrated as hell with this.

We could just send you some landmarks to get out if you are an experienced player
