There is no question in my mind that Linden labs is closing Forums because of negative comments. It's much easier to hide the truth by sending all comments to the black hole of "support@secondlife. I have not received one response from my inquiries for support.

And, if anyone thinks that the reason is that Linden Labs is short of funds, they haven't been following the land sales at all. They can't even keep up with the demand for new sims. So, they are now selling off regions of nothing but water. Water that should be protected for the use of all SL members. Just look at the new regions on the South Continent. Beautiful waterfront regions that should border protected bodies of water. But no, all the water in between the regions is being auctioned off, lowering the existing waterfront property values. Property that SL members have paid a premium for, because they were on protected Linden water. Off shore water around the continents is also being sold off, making it impossible to navigate the waterways in a in a boat. Whether you own land or not, you should demand that Linden labs keeps the waterways in SL protected and accessable to all.

I haven't even been playing SL for 2 months now and I've already received support once and had a limit increase granted... I think they're doing quite a good job considering how many people have joined lately. As for the waterfronts, I felt the same way initially as a "property speculator". But, the bottom line is, there are far more people in SL that benefit from lower land prices than higher prices. I lost 750USD when they chose to release 40 sims that one day. You really shouldn'y buy properties unless a) you can stomach the losses or b) you don't really care as it wasn't an investment for monetary gain in the first place.

Now, what would be really unfair is if LL crashed land prices and not 'premium land'. Most of us aren't going around taking boat rides all the time and even for those of us who enjoy and boat ride here and there -- there are plenty of private island owners who would be happy to let you enjoy their protected oceans should you be a resident of theirs.

While I agree with you that having open waterways would be nice, I can't agree with you that waterways owned by others should be be public access.

Personally I hate ban lines, but the "owner" has a right to prevent people from entering, the only water you can reasonably expect to be open no matter what is Linden owned stuff.

So, as I see it, you have two choices.

1. Put a proposal forward that LL create more protected water, an d hope they listen.

2. Put you dollars on the table and start buying water up to make your own contribution to SL. I'm currently doing something similar, except with Land (making parks).

I'd happily support either effort, and if you go for number 2 then let me know, I might be able to help with some tier for the land fee. (Got some excess at the moment)

One feature I'd like to see implemented is that anyone who posts an identical message to 4 or more forums automatically has their account deleted permanently and irrevocably.

Please don't post stuff like this here. Not only is it way, way, way off topic, but if you're so convinced that your theory is correct for why the Land Forum was closed, what exactly are you trying to do, get this one closed too?

That was a rhetorical question, by the way. Please don't feel like you should answer it. To do so would likely only tempt you to rehash all the same comments you just posted. Once was more than enough.

If you really feel the need to post these kind of complaint-fest threads, I invite you to check out the multitude of third party forums that are available. Some not only encourage this kind of thing, but thrive on it. That's not what this forum here is for though. Please show a little more respect for the readers and the writers of this forum, none of whom come here for stuff like this. Thank you.

Give the guy a break. His CONCERNS ( not complaints) are valid. He pays to access the forum here and just because the service provider decided to rip the rug out from under his feet and close his access to the forum threads he had available to him when he paid them does'nt mean he should just be quiet and take it.

The Forum Moderator can move this thread or close it if he wants to. I believe community members should stick together and not attack free thinkers in the name of THE COMPANY. Linden Lab can deal with him if they want. A community lunch mob is not called for.

When you posted this once, I thought maybe you had a legitimate point to make, even if your choice for where to put it was less than tasteful. Now that I see you're just spamming it all over the place, I realize you have no point other than to stir up trouble.

If you did have any semblance of an actual message you wanted to convey, you should understand that by your actions you've destroyed your ability to get it across. When people get upset about spam, they tend to ignore the content completely. So, congratulations, you've effectively deafened your audience by shouting so loud.

Please take this stuff elsewhere. No one here wants to read spam. Thank you.

Chosen he stated in his first post that there was no appropiate place to put this thread anymore in the SL Forums. So he put it a few places so the community can see it. It is a well-written insightful post. And it is not his fault the service provider changed the rules on its customer base. Look on th ebright side; at least it's not a rant on child avatar sex.

these posts have been merged into the original thread in Resident Answers. the others originated from Land Sales and Rentals, Design and Textures, Technical Issues, Scripting Tips, Building, Resident Answers (a seperate thread from this one), Feature Suggestions, SL Mentors, SL Live Helpers and SL ResMod.

this is spamming and cross-posting, as such the multiple threads have been merged and the new, wholly inclusive thread has been closed for Linden Review.

please refrain from repeating this in the future. if you have a point to make, make it once in the appropriate place. if there is no appropriate place, then you're better off either not posting or going to one of the third-party sites and posting your views.

Torley Linden:
Please don't spam the forums — it adds to an already-taxing support load which we are working to scale, and makes it harder for us to help. See our forum Guidelines, thanks. This thread remains closed.
