All of my music urls and radios no longer function on my land. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried evrything I know to do. Replacing the radios, setting to group, deeding to group, replacing urls. I am at a loss. I have submitted Bug reports and send IMs to Live Help that elicits no response, not even a canned one. Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Linden Answers don't answer. I am hopeful, the residents will. Thank you in advance.

Did you make any changes to your land recently? Does your avatar own it, or does a group?

No changes have been made. They are group owned.

Have you made any changes to the group lately? [Not counting membership.]

Here's something to think about: QuickTime 7 sucks. QuickTime will keep trying to update itself unless you tell it not to, and QuickTime 7 (the latest version) has been causing SLers some serious problems lately. In fact, a number of shops in SL that rent out video streams are recommending people use an older version of QuickTime.

In my case, if I try to play a video stream on my land with QuickTime 7 installed, Second Life drops to something like 0.3 frames per second and I have to log off. I uninstalled QuickTime 7, and installed the final version of QuickTime 6 (version 6.5.2) and haven't had a single problem since.

The one drawback to not using QT 7 is that older versions of QuickTime can't play content created with QT7, so you should try playing your stream URLs directly from QT 6 to make sure they're still playable.

(And actually, this last bit is a good thing to do anyway. Open QuickTime Player right now and try to play your streams. If it works in QuickTime Player on your computer, and not in Second Life, you might need to file a bug, or perhaps contact Live Help.)

Are the objects trying to change the URLs still group owned?

The first thing to figure out is if it's the radio, land, or something else. First of all, can you hear music on other people's land? Check out a plot where others can confirm they hear music there. If you don't hear anything, then you know the problem lies client-side. The famous uninstall/reinstall sometimes fixes this, but it could be one of a number of probs on your end.

If you do hear music elsewhere, try entering the URL into about land > media menu directly. If it does work by entering directly, but not via radio, then you know the problem is either with the radio or the way the land is set up.

First check the land:

o If the land is deeded to a group, ensure the radio is also deeded to that group.

o If the land is owned by an individal, make sure that same individual owns the radio (ie not deeded to group). If this land is also set to group, set the radio to group and group members will be able to operate it when grp is active on the avatar.

If the land-radio setup is ok, and you still have no music, try recompiling the scripts of the radio. Whilst in edit on the radio, select Tools > Recompile Scripts In Selection.

If you are still having problems, then you either have a bug or a problem with the radio. It might be worth first getting in touch with the creator of the radio to see if they can shed some light on it, and if they can't, get in touch with LL aboiut a possible bug.

Hope you get it fixed.

I had this happen to me this week....
Turns out if you use a stream from places like streamcast or shoutcast, your stations URL might have changed... they are not always static when hosted on one of those systems.
I had 30 stations on my radio and one by one they stopped working... I had to go back to shoutcast, search for my favorites, and then recopy the URL out of the .pls playlist file. On all the ones i redid, all of them had different URL's then the one's i had been listening to on my radio.
