Re all the new sims going up for auction. If new (mainly water) sims have Protected Land in both Name and Description, is it safe to assume that they will remain protected and not go up for auction shortly?
I'm wondering about Dandrade and Danser right now. I'm assuming these are Open Space sims .. or whatever they call them.

*bump* =P Hmm. They're not Open Space sims because they supports 15,000 prims. But then so do other entirely protected sims that have been around for years..like Wauaria.

If it says 'Protected Land' under description, indeed they're supposed to stay open. However, I bought a parcel in Corsica next to a sim labeled Protected last week. Two days later the 'Protected' sim had it's description changed to 'Empty'. So, I'm praying the Lindens didn't change their mind and decided to put the sim for auction.... You never know what the Lindens will decide to do. NO assurances.

The sim next to the one I just bought has a strip of protected water down its north edge. Pretty sure the strip will remain. As far as a whole sim staying protected, there is no guarantee they won't one day change the designation and auction it off.

Raymond, yes I saw the strip. It's a Linden canal for sure, a nice bumper for your sim. BTW, what's up with the white/black wall your neighbor put up?.... can you spell U-G-L-Y..? LOL

Thanks Raymond and Calveen. =) I went ahead and bought a small parcel on a mainland sim recently purchased by Sarah Nerd. The price was just too good for land that size with one unblockable waterfront side, which is what I require for a cute little store I intend to build (one open side for a visible entrance). I've owned parcels next to protected strips before (owned a lot of land in 2006 but dumped it all end of last year) but never next to an entire protected sim. I just hope to god they don't change their minds. Land Shepherd just snapped up all the other parcels on the sim edge, so I'm assuming he's confident about that protected sim too. =D

Grid (not Land) Shepherd is the Electric Sheep indexer. I panned across to Land Shepherd but decided not to interrupt because he looked busy pricing up his parcels. He has a very cute, business-like avatar. =)

Sarah sold it at her usual great low prices too! Congrats!
