Confusion Regarding Linden Labs Blog Page

I am a bit confused about the Linden Labs blog postings. What does it mean exactly when they say an issue is resolved? For instance, I am still having all kinds of problems searching, whenever I try to search a place in world I get "Service Unavailable" but when I go to view the blog postings according to Linden Labs all the issues regarding search have been resolved.

Is it just me that is having this problem, should I contact LL tech support regarding it?

If I am not the only one having the problem then isn't it a bit disingenuous for LL to be posting that the problems are resolved on the blog when clearly they aren't?

Or is this just an indication that LL has decided to remove places search from SecondLife altogether which of course would mean the problem is resolved.

Thanks for any feedback you may have.

Nothing, typically.

It's resolved as in when the KGB took you down into the basement.

It means they aren't going to deal with it anymore. So file a new request/complaint/AR/federal lawsuit.

Resolved means (in my experience) 'we've finished looking at that now'. It doesn't mean the problem has been fixed, mended, repaired, removed, gone away or answered.

My AR about giant wooden blocks extending into my land (as one example) was 'resolved' but never fixed. Experience also shows that requests to clarify 'resolved in what way please?' will be ignored.

I suspect 'resolved' in the blog has the same definition.

Thankyou - Uzi (trying not to be bitter and twisted (but not really succeeding))

Momentarily fixed! With a guarantee the troubles will start again in just a few more minutes!

"Resolved" to a Linden means "we don't feel like working on this anymore and are going for a latte".

Due to the "Tao of Linden" Lindens only have to work on things they feel like working on. As opposed to a real company where employees have to work on things that provide useful and reliable service to their paying customers.

It would appear that search is working for me again as of now, I upgraded to the new client but don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

If you wrap scotch tape around a bursted water pipeline, the problem is resolved. Resolved as in "It's only slightly dripping now, for the next 2 minutes or so". It's no misinformation at all, LL just fails to notify us when the soaked tape inevitably comes off.

Aleister, you owe me a monitor! On second though, nah.. I'll just wipe off the tea. This has probably been the best explanation of Linden Lab's idea of 'resolved!'
