Prims Phantom but Not Phantom

I noticed today that some of my builds that are up high are no longer behaving the same and people are falling through solid prims that held them before.

I have held large several events in these builds and know that people walked fine all over the prim floors before. Now, I fall right through and the prims are most definitely not phantom. For a moment the prim seems solid but then my avatar falls though. I have tested this with someone else and they too fall through too. Create a new prim in the same area and, even though it also not phantom, it is not solid and avatars pass through it.

This has rendered several of my large builds useless. Is this happening to anyone else??

Thanks for any help!

How high is the build? I've heard builds over 768 meters become unstable and prims don't behave how they should.

Hi Joesph - thanks for your reply.

The builds are below 500 meters.

Are you linking a prim that is phantom to a prim that is not phantom? I think when this is done, both prims become phantom.

If the build hasn't changed at all recently, then it sounds like a bug. Something like "your client knows its there but the sim or physics engine forgets that its there."

If that's the case, I'd try to wait it out.

Hi Faybot - thanks for your reply.

Jacques scares me but he may be right. Should I maybe try resetting the regions? (I own the islands the builds are on).

Don't worry, it's a common response. :)

Glad it worked.

Hi, I know this is a little late, but I have found a solution to that problem that does not require resetting the region. For some reason some prims seem to become corrupted and think they are hollow. I have found that if I set the hollow setting full, then back to zero the problem goes away. I deleted more prims than I can count thinking they had become corrupted until I discovered that trick.

You should really file a bug report if you haven't already, especially if you think you have a good repro case..
