I've been trying to log on for over an hour and a half with no success. I uploaded the latest version and I was online yesterday without problems. I uninstalled and re-installed it but still can't seem to get logged on. I have also rebooted my computer. I get as far as 'connecting to region' then it freezes. Any ideas what to do? I need to get online!!! Please help me someone ;-)

I have not had issues logging on today BUT when I do I reset my login to home or if I can't log into home I reset it to another place..sometimes sims are down, sometimes it is other issues or the grid is just full. Good luck!

Thanx for your reply. I am still having major issues getting on every day but it's good to have something new to try. ;-)

One thing you might want to look at, which many overlook, is the free space on your hard disc.
Someone recently IM'd me and said the movie I had made for them wasn't showing. After a few minutes of asking questions, it was discovered they had run very low on hard disc space, the same was true of someone else that had loggin issues.

You may want to go to the Second Life website and see if you can loggin there, before trying anything else.

Try clearing out your Second Life catch by the use of the options button in the client programe

Clear out your computer internet catch, IE has this as an option, I am sure other brousers have this option too

Run a tidy disk function from within Windows

Defrag your hard disk (do the complete version which may take a few hours on some computers)

Reinstall the SL client programe.

As a last desperate measure if all else fails try repairing or reinstalling Windows and make sure you are using all up to date grahics and Apple Quicktime drivers. Back up data on hard disk first

Just some brief ideas, oh and finally try logging into SL on a light load day (i.e Monday moprning GMT)

Thanks

Guys, thanks for all your help with the different things to try. I completely cleared all references to SL on my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled as well as cleared cache, defragmented and cleared all cookies and temp internet folders. While I might sound like I know what I'm talking about, this is not the case!! I may have to ask for your help again ;-) It's worked so far but I wanted to say what I'd done in case it helped anyone else.

Keshia - you might also check out the Second Life Knowledge Base.

I suspect you'll be ok once you do a complete re-install of the client software :)

Hope so!
