Apologies, I know this topic has been covered extensively, but I was unable to find the thread in this forum. Can someone either list or link to the thread of RL companies that have a presence in Second Life? I'm trying to pitch the idea to my employer.

Thanks!

Let us know if you have any luck with that. I've tried pitching Second Life to my employer and there was zippo interest. Sigh.

Sun, Cisco, American Apparel, Reebok and NBC spring to mind, in addition to the others mentioned already in this thread.

There are a myriad of RL Companies in SL, some large some small.

I represent a RL Company and we work with many RL businesses developing presence or Events inworld.

There are many others offering similar services.

I think Dell has a presence in Second Life, and possibly a sim of their own. I think I only remember that because I read some controversy about the Dell associates being allowed to all have the last name Dell in world. lol :D

Pity they didn't do a little research in-world. They'd have discovered SL is nearly unusuable.

So was earth when it was a primeval soup. You think SL is laggy now... you should have been around then wading through molten lava and all sorts of substances and gases. And look what happened since ;)

Endemol - TV production company responsible for Big Brother (*hiss)

And I've seen a few publishing houses. Not sure about Penquin, but they did have some free to copy marketing stuff for Neal Stephenson's work. Which is apt.

Yes, things evolved and got better as time went by, unlike SL which de-evolves on each update getting more and more difficult to use.

D'oh! So why won't Autodesk show up in search (granted, I haven't looked for it in weeks since I first didn't find it)
