Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on decent, preferably lower-cost prefab homes?
I'm not looking for the cheapest of the cheap, but some place that has nice, reasonably priced houses would be wonderful. I have a 1024m^2 plot of land sitting idle, and would love to just have a place to keep my stuff, change clothes around, have people over, etc in. But sadly my building skills are pretty limited, and I just don't have the time to spend constantly tweaking things, finding or making the perfect texture, etc to satisfy my ideals of a place I hand-craft.
Sooo..does anyone have any recommendations for nice prefab homes? It seems most of the 'popular' places are all selling copies of the same thing at somewhat ridiculous prices..

Ace Albion makes some of the best-designed, reasonably priced, low prim houses in SL. Love 'em! And Ace is a great person to boot!

Are you only interested in traditional looking homes? Blanc Noir has a whole system of nice-looking but inexpensive space station modules for a skybox. Here's his link on SLX: http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&MerchantID=2483Chrystin Hathor also has a bunch of inexpensive buildings. Some old cottages, some New Orleans stuff, and a cool industrial artist's loft. And if you're being VERY thrifty, many of the cottages are around L$30! She has a store called Chrystin's Emporium (I think) in Caledon II, with pix of the cottages in a vendor display on the wall.

If you're looking for something attractive and unique with a super low prim count and relatively simple (and spacious) interior, check out Pie in the Sky as well. They make some excellent, beautifully textured homes designed for smaller plots.

Coco's Cottages, Rosieri 95,170 has a good range including some designed specifically for 512 sq m plots.

Thanks for all of hte replies, everyone I ended up going with Ava's recommendation and checking out Chrystin Hathor's stuff. (Partially because I just love an excuse to wander around Caledon and see what's happening there ). Bought the "Urban Loft" piece and absolutely love it (I have it up at Laurier 174, 198, 56 if anyone feels like looking around, but it's pretty sparse right now ). If anyone else happens to be looking for good prefabs, I would DEFINITELY recommend going back there, all of the houses looked excellently designed. I have an Ace's house and with a few additions, namely the Heli Pad on the roof and a Modified Elevator in a Box industrial slab elevator, I love it. Locking doors, Privacy windows, a few small design issues, but as they are modifiable they are things you can fix later.

I am biased, but I like Scorpio Galatea's prefab. Most are too big for a 1,024 sq mt. plot, but he does have a lovely chalet.
Check him out at Phoenix.

Check him out at Phoenix. If you ever get the land area, I also recommend Scorpio's prefabs. Juro Kothari also makes some nice prefabs that will definitely fit into your space.

houses (or homes) out of time. not in game so i don't have the exact name. models are spread across a few sims (faith and hope if i remember correctly).
if i WERE in game, ketter would accuse me of slacking off.

i'm another ace's spaces fan. i have used two of his buildings for my art gallery...i don't use the locking doors or shades, but i like how much of the natural light comes through. They are simple and minimalist and unique all at the same time.
i had a hard time picking out which building i wanted the last time...but if you go to his store you can rez each building and walk around in it to get a feeling of what it's like. He has several for a 1024 plot...and they are modifiable so you can make it even more unique. I tinted the outside of mine green and gave it a concrete floor inside.

One thing to remember if you buy something that JUST fits your land, you are going to run out of Prims filling it, no question about that. You need some "yard" to give you enough prim to furnish it even if you go prim stingy. 3 Prim + 3 Prim + 3 Prim adds up really fast as you try and fill your space.

Just filling the land is not the problem it's the number of prims. Why not look at Kornscope Komachi builds. All low prim and well built. Fill your land and still have plenty of prims left.

I have a Basic split level cottage you may have, it's mod, and copy, but no Transfer. all you do is add doors, and Windows, and decorate (It's Untextured). Some of the variations i've seen after giving it away have been quite pleasing. It's also fairly Low Prim. If you want it Contact me in Game, as i said, I just give it away. Angel.
