Unable to log in

I recently returned home from work and found I was unable to login. It keeps coming up with an error message saying

"Despite our best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong."

Then it tells me to check the website to see if there is a known problem with the service. My friend can get in and has relogged a couple times to see if he can for me.

Is anyone else having this problem? Or do you know of anything I could try to get logged in?

I logged out to try firstlook client when I got the same problem.

Depressing if I am to be the honest...

I had this problem for about a half hour. I logged out, cleared cache, rebooted, tried twice and it let me in.

I've tried all of those, nothing at all. I just wanted to chill with a few friends for a while and see if there was anything I could do with my house and I just cant get in. And you're right, it's very depressing, especially if you just want to relax =(

I cleared my cache and it let me back on...
now I am staying on...

I cleared my cache, rebooted, restarted sl about 12 times and nothing at all. I was at first thinking it may have been the uk servers, as my friend was having no problems at all, then I thought I dont even know if there are seperate servers for the uk, which there may be, wow, you'd never guess I did computer networking at college for a year would you? lol xD

I dont know how they deal with the servers, how many they got for each place...

This is not making me a happy bunny at all...and yeah..it's..HARD v.v Setting servers up is no fun people, so we need to lay off the Lindens a lil....I do whine sometimes, but I know how much hard work can go into these things

same problem here but now I am not even wanting to logon since the numbers are so high thats online= LAG LAG LAG!

Maybe we just need to be patient? I'm just stressy tonight =(

Oh well, I'm gonna try rebooting. If that doesnt work I'ma go play animal crossing and try again tomorrow

I think there needs to be a limit for members, too many joining again and things go to shit real quick, takes the fun right out of the game for me....bah humbug!

One thing I can think of is checking the firewall and the specific ports that SL uses. From the Knowledge base, it is "443/TCP, 12035/UDP, 12036/UDP, 12043/TCP, and 13000-13050/UDP"

Also, if you have a router or modem, reset them too!

ACK! i was just silk shopping and the Sim i was on went down...tried logging back in only to get the "Despite our best efforts..." i also did everything that has suggested, nothing is working... and no, i am not in the UK grrrr

I think thats the problem there...alot of sims are crashing so if you try to log in to one of the lucky sims that is crashing you will not get in. I got in but crashed after a few min and now getting the samething again and I have tried several different sims to login on and nuthin! I am out for the night, was very laggy as always when too many signed in anyways.

I FINALLY got in ^^ Yays....I reset my router and it works perfectly...Dunno why I didnt think of it in the first place xD
