What's after the Ivory Tower of Prims
02-14-2007 08:02
The Ivory Tower of Prims will lead you to the Particle Laboratory, the texture lab, etc.
YOu might also try IDEA ISLAND for an 'intermediate' class on Textures.
And there's a scripters group...they hold dozens of classes if you want to learn to script. I"ll get the name next time I'm in world.
PLUS, you can always go to HTTP://secondlife.com/events and use the drop down for 'EDUCATION' :)

Yadni's Junkyard has an excellent Learning Corner with tutorials, links and a wonderful chart diagramming the modifying of prims.

Postbot!! Somebody haxed the open source client to make a postbot!!

Jopsey's Particle Laboratory is a must-see, IMO. People I've taken there, people who have no interest in scripting, thought it was pretty cool and came out with a better understanding of how/why things work.

The Ivory Tower I've been to only once or twice but it's also quite cool. Plan to spend a fair amount of time in both places.. :)

Yes. Jopsy Pendragon's Particle Lab is one of THE Treasures of SL. And Jopsy is a great person. The Lab is always being improved. I stop in every other month or so, just to see what's been added :) :)

I suggest EVERYONE go through the Ivory Tower of Prims...'cuz almost everything in SL uses prims in some way. After that, you can specialize in scripts, or particles, or textures, or building, or clothing, or avitars, or... ;)

And I'd forgotten about Yadni's corner...it, too, is a good place to find links.
