What does it mean when someone IM's you with the message, "Can you tp me?"
I want to show a person some land....is it possible to teleport another avatar to the place you want them to be? Or is there any way to give them the coordinates?
The closest I could come was to add the avatar to my "Friends" list, but I don't know how to do that with a person I don't know and who is offline.

Just go to thier profile and it gives you the option to tp them to your location.

not a stupid question at all. Yes you can teleport someone to where you are. In the IM window, you will see a button that says profile. Click that. this will bring up the person's profile. At the bottom of that window, middle section, there is a button, Offer teleport. Hit that and presto, if the person accepts, then they appear over your head.

Several ways to show someone an interesting or fun place! Fellowen already mentioned one Another is to click on the top tool bar > World > Create a Landmark Here You can then find that landmark in your inventory in the Landmarks folder and drag it over the person's profile (or over their avatar if you're in the same spot). To add a friend who isn't on the same parcel as you (or even online) go to the bottom toolbar and click Friends. The window pops up and you click Add (lower right of that window) Type the person's name in the text portion of *that* window, and "Find" If you type their full name correctly, their name will appear with blue highlighting If you type a portion, a list of all people with that portion will appear. Left-click the person's name on the list and "Add" The other person will have to accept the friendship offer in order for them to be on your Friends List (SL friendships, like RL are a two-way street)  Also, the only stupid question is the one left unasked! Just for Giggles, I made up a Roll of Toilet Paper with a Floating text over it just saying TP. When a friend says "Send me a TP" i send them the Roll.
Cheap laugh, but Fun.
