if i delete someone from my friends list... do i disappear from theirs too??

Yes,. Also, as far as I know they wont get a notification that you have deleted them. They will need to open their friends list to realise you've gone

Yes, if you remove them, you dissapear from theirs, and the other way around.
Related, there's no notice anyone sees if you remove them (unless they happen to notice you're no longer on their list).
