Is it a good idea to announce games/events/etc on the "Capture Roleplay Chat" group IM, instead of "Capture Roleplay" group IM?
The disadvantage would be that you'd need to be in both groups if you wanted to hear announcements about events/etc.
The major disadvantage would be that in order to hear about events etc, you'd need to join the CARP Chat group which would also mean you heard all the member to member chat, too.
The advantage would be that you could remain in CARP but opt out of hearing event announcements by choosing not to be in the "Capture Roleplay Chat" group.
So the overall gain would be :
* giving people the ability to choose not to recieve CARP notices at all via opting out of the CARP Chat group.
The overall loss would be :
* removing the ability for people to listen for announcements without listening for member to member chat too.
