Traditionally the bar in a golf club is refered to informally as the 19th Hole. Its the place to review your round with your playing partners, shoot the breeze and tell your entertaining golf stories.
This thread is the SLGA "19th HOLE". This is the place to tell us yours stories about things that happened to you while playing golf in Second Life. It might be the story of how you got a hole-in-one. It might be a funny story. Any story you care to share is fair game.

Don't Give Up

Ok, i might as well start the ball rolling. Not so much a funny story or dramatic event, but not a bad story either.
In my one witnessed round at Holly Kai I started with a quadruple bogey on the first hole, an 8! However i settled down after that and played par golf the rest of the way to record a 39. Others have had lower scores, but I bet no one every expects to break 40 after a start like that. So don't get down after a bad hole, it might end up making a good story.

Saturday on 7, and I have a witness for this, i was about 160 out, but needed to chip it over a tree. I misjudged and it hit the tree, which was about 50 yards from me.
The ball bounced off the tree as if it was a wall.....and hit me in the face. The witness, Flutter saw it and doubled over laughing. For me, it was just a white trail that got larger and larger until the whole monitor filled with nothing but white. it wasn't even a bounce, just from club, 50 yards down, to tree, 50 yards back, to face.
I have since taken to wearing a helmet on the course. I am still laughing.

HIO on 9th

From: MarkTwain White So don't get down after a bad hole, it might end up making a good story. Mark, You can say that again After my companion and I ended the 8th hole yesterday, my expectations were at an all-time low. Her golf had been solid since about hole 5, but mine really did not stabilize at all. I haven't put more golf balls in the water since I did my first round as a beta-tester. So the only thing left was to fly to the last hole (You should really put a fixed destination teleporter there...)and end an un-postable round. So after my friend had started our efforts on this hole by trying to sink a sailboat or two, I tee up, choose a 5w (because I hate to end up in the water, and the flag is farther away than you think) and hit it. Can't see the ball, it went the right way, but can't see it..... And then it comes.... [12:48] floG! 1.2.5: Power: 102% [12:48] Golf Ball 0.72: In the hole! Good shot! It took some time to sink in... Everything can happen...My friend ended up with something a lot over par on the last hole, and I got an eagle ! Advantages change fast in this game...

Hiya Folks,
Transparant, my compliments on this achievement!!!!
Yesterday I've become a formal member of HK golf club... I'm looking forward to participate on as many events as possible although the timediffrence (6-9 hours respectively) between the US and Europe might put a break on that.....
CU all around the 19th hole!

Yeah, so, no cool stories yet, except to say this: I saw Taco hit himself in the head with the golfball. It was truly the funniest thing I have ever seen. I (literally) almost died when I saw it - choked on my water I laughed so hard. Poor Taco. He needs a helmet pretty much all the time. Also, I was there when Transparent hit his HIO. Yeah, that was cool. But in my defense, it was totally his fault that I was so distracted by that, that I decided to use a 4i from about 5hm.
