I think actions should be considered in context to determine if they are right or wrong, and that though there may be a high level determination for a given action, each individual or group will judge it based upon their own experiances.

From today's seminar, Kin Lane writes of a few things that are wrong: From: someone - to cause pain - not to share
Also, Lor Gynoid lists: From: someone Trying to kill people under almost any circumstances Trying to harm people physically without really good reason Trying to harm people emotionally without really good reason Damaging parts of the world others depend on for continued existance (without really good reason) ditto for a non-dangerous existance ditto for a not unpleasant existance

hmmm I have had discussions on what is 'morally good and bad' over the years and have to agree with Robert A. Heinlien who basically said that there is only one truely universal human immoral act and that is to not propagate the species.

Daz.. I admit I started laughing when I read your reply, thinking to myself "How right he is." Then I re-read the post and saw the word "not" in there and laughed even harder. Flaar

Hi Flaar, FYI, The Ethics Group is open and free to join for everyone. It's mainly a way for those who are interested in the ethics discussions to be kept informed of events. Being a member of the group does not imply that you subscribe to any beliefs in particular. You are also welcome to attend discussions or suggest topics for discussion in the other thread if you have pet topics to raise. Camera use in SL has come up once in a past dilemma, in relation to created objects, though, if I recall correctly. I think it was discussed that there is nothing inherently wrong with using one's camera controls in SL, since the SL camera is unavoidable once in-world. However, of course it would be problematic to to breach an agreement to do otherwise or to distribute private pictures without permission of the parties involved, etc. Sel
