I'm starting this thread to brainstorm and collect ideas about what kind of group activity you'd like to see from the Ladies' Society. I'd love to see a clothing swap meeting! I have a folder full of clothing and accessories to give away - things that just don't fit my personal style - and I sure can't be the only one with that probem. So - would you be interested in that, would it make sense to limit the swap to victorian / formal clothing? I'd be glad to host it, except that I don't have a private residence in Caledon - but if you all don't mind leaving Caledon for such an event, we can have it at my place. Please contribute your ideas!

My only problem is that a majority of the clothes I'd like to swap are none transferable. Other activities I'd like to see for the ladies would be a poetry reading (I'm not a poet but I do enjoy listening to other read), we could even have a gossip and fashion newsletter. I can't think of anything else but once I do I'll post them. ^_^

From: Yuriko Muromachi My only problem is that a majority of the clothes I'd like to swap are none transferable. Likewise - and this is especially bad with hair and skins, which seem to be customarily set to no transfer. Still I hope to have a swap meeting soon, once the next Caledon sim has been delivered and I have had time to set up a home, as Mr. Shang was so kind to reserve a parcel for me. From: someone Other activities I'd like to see for the ladies would be a poetry reading (I'm not a poet but I do enjoy listening to other read), we could even have a gossip and fashion newsletter. A poetry reading would surely be a very enjoyable activity, are there any poets amongst the Caledon ladies? Otherwise we could surely share our favorite poems from the 19th century. As for the newsletter - excellent idea! If you don't mind, I'd like to go ahead and try to get a newsletter started.

Lovely! Please if there's anything we can do to help contribute to the newsletter, do let us know. I for one would be willing to help in whatever little way I can.

I will try to get something off the ground this weekend - monday being a holiday in these parts of the world, that could be sufficient time to get creative. I welcome any contribution - be it a favorite shopping location, new product release, musings and thoughts about victorian fashion or lifestyle; and I could surey use a proofreader or copyeditor, as victorian-period english is far from being my mother tongue.
Also it would maybe be a good time to start planning a first get-together and publish the date in the newsletter, as not everyone reads the forums. I suggest either June 17th or 18th (a saturday and sunday, respectively) as it will probably be easiest to get a time convenient for most on a weekend. If by then the newest Caledon sim has been delivered & set up, I'll be glad to host at my modest home; if not maybe one of the other ladies will offer us her garden? Please let me know what you all think of that.
