April’s Developer Incentives will include a whole new way to reward Second Life’s most creative Residents.
This month $1,000 will be award to the impresarios of Second Life’s most popular destination, as measured by dwell. In April, we’ll award an additional total of $500 to those who create great content that isn’t necessarily a place or can’t accurately be measured by dwell.
In the beginning of each month, we’ll announce a new category – anything from best avatar to most compelling terraforming—and you’ll have most of the rest of the month to create or revise your genre-defining work.
The top content will be selected by a rotating panel of esteemed Linden judges, the top pick earns a $250 Developer Incentive, $150 goes to the next choice, and third spot takes home $100.
Are you Ready?
April’s category is: Scripted objects for new Residents
What will put the biggest smile on the face of a new Resident whenever they pull it out of their inventory?
Got something in hand - or in mind? Bring it to our attention by sending a short description to awards@lindenlab.com before noon, Pacific Time, on Monday, April 26. Self-nominations and single-creator objects only, please. You’ll also need to submit a copy of the object to Nova Linden in world, so your work will need to be complete before the nomination deadline. The winning items may be distributed for free to all Second Life Residents – bringing fame to go along with the Developer Incentive fortune. Scripted vehicles and weapons will not be considered since we may want to have a special award for them in the future.
Category Developer Incentives will be announced along with Dwell-based Developer Incentives on April 30, and Residents may receive award of both kinds. To accommodate the move to the end of the month, Dwell-based awards will be increased to $1,500 this month only to reflect a full month and a half period.
