This is a summary of issues with textures in SecondLife 1.7.0. I will address the different issues and their (sometimes pending) resolutions here.
1. Textures appear grey:
A. We are in the process of updating simulators with a fix for most of this problem. Throughout the day, expect textures to improve. In cases where you are not seeing improvements, try deleting your cache; you can use the new "Clear Cache" button in the login screen > Preferences > Network tab for this purpose. Once you've pushed the "Clear Cache" button, restart the viewer and then log in to clear your cache.
B. Some attachments are not getting textures even though the texture fix has already been applied. It appears there may be an additional problem with textures that is specific to attachments. If you experience this behavior, please try clearing your cache. We will continue to investigate the issue and post updates as necessary.
3. Textures on houses, etc. that use a cut have swapped sides:
This is a known issue. The rendering engine is drawing these textures incorrectly. If you see a texture that appears to be swapped with another, or is inverted or just plain drawn incorrectly DO NOT try to fix it. We are working on a resolution, and will try to deploy it ASAP.
