Greetings! This is a multi-part announcement: please read all the way through!
At 7:30am PT/SLT, we will be restarting one of the main processes that makes Second Life work. This restart will have negative consequences to users still online. Therefore, we will require all users to log off for a few minutes. We anticipate the outage to last five to ten minutes, after which you may log in once more.
Once the grid is open again, a rolling update will commence to push new software out to the grid. During this update, all regions will be restarted once. When the region you are in goes down, you should be able to log back in after just a few minutes. This process will take from three and a half to four hours.
But wait -- there's more! There will also be an optional viewer update available on Wednesday. This will address some issues affecting residents. Full release notes are as follows:
