We've decided to award Linden Dollars to a few residents who are willing to organize and oversee games. Some of the examples are team competitions such as: Capture-the-Flag, speed building, and team trivia. Others will be party games like Dictionary or the Newlywed game. The grants will cover award money as well as compensation for the organizer and assistants who help will publicity and gambling. Bonuses will be offered based on the size of the audience. Contact haney@lindenlab.com immediately if you are interested.

Grant for Game Organized by Residents
01-10-2003 15:38
We are looking for a few residents to test and organize a competition of a game called Bump and Run. We will pay you with Linden bucks and cover the cost of the awards.

The rules of Bump and Run:

Two teams of equal numbers (three to five residents) compete on a course that doubles back on itself. Flying is not allowed but blocking and bumping is encouraged. The team with the first member across the finish line wins.

The organizer will need to mark the course with flags and organize a practice session to test the game. Afterwards, he or she will work with Haney to fine tune the course layout and determine what additional rules are needed. Teams should have equal access to the course if they want to practice. The organizer will need an assistant referee to make sure competitors complete the course and stay within squeeze points.

There will be five races. Each team will be paid $500 for each race. The team that wins the most races will be awarded the other $500. The award will be given to the resident that each team designates as team leader for distribution to the other team members.

The job of the head organizer:
- find the teams to compete
- pick a time and place
- publicize the event
- judge the contest

The organizer will be encouraged to work with other residents to run the event, subcontracting tasks such as flying around handing out landmarks ahead of time to increase the audience and crowd control.

The events need to happen on a sim line so that audience is on one side and the action is on another.

Linden will provide:
- $1000 for the winners
- $1500 for organizing
- up to $500 bonus - $25 per audience member - up to a total of 20 residents.

Admission will be free for now. We will encourage the organizers to put up a Voting Station reap that benefit.

Please email me immediately if you interesting in helping organize the competition – Haney@lindenlab.com. Let me know how much time you have over the next couple of weeks.
