Apparently the power went out in the part of the city where our servers reside and that has knocked SL offline temporarily. We hope it is back up soon.

Everything should be running fine now. This wasn't an outage of the public grid, but the entire server facility where SL is located lost power, due to some internal failure which they haven't explained to to me yet. I'm sure it'll be a good story, as they have lots and lots of batteries and a big genetor to prevent exactly this sort of thing. If you're a Speakeasy DSL customer in SF and you lost service, it was due to the same outage.
I have to say it's creepy walking into the facility, which is usually filled with a deafening roar, and hearing only the squeeking of shoes on the anti-static floor. And the odd curse coming from the electrician.
Clearly we regret this incident, hopefully it won't happen again. (If it does we'll probably move to a different facility)
