Great news for all you Mac fans. Now's your chance to start hammering on the Mac version of Second Life. A preview version has been posted for download by current SL users at http://www.secondlife.com/macalpha. If you have a Mac computer with the following spec, please try it out and let us know what you think. As always, please report any bugs you find. Also, keep in mind that this version won't be updated for a few weeks.

Minimum spec:
* 1 GHz G4 or better
* 256 MB Ram
* ATI Radeon 8500/GeForce2 or better
* OS X 10.3 (Panther)

Known bugs:
* Inventory caching is broken so you will always download your inventory
* Avatar texture baking is broken, so avatar editing and changing clothing will not work
* There is an animation glitch because the Mac codebase is slightly ahead of the released PC codebase that causes the avatar to get stuck in the stand animation. This will prevent you from being able to move around. To get unstuck, attempt to sit on nearby ground. Your avatar will start walking toward the spot and you will be unstuck.

We've also set up a new forum under Tech Tech Tech for you. Be the first to post! Mac Alpha Users
