I just found and fixed a nasty bug in the server code that could cause you to lose money if you attempted to buy or claim land across a region boundary.
Since this could cause money loss, we're going to patch the servers immediately to fix it. I'm going to take the grid down tomorrow morning, December 9, at 7:00 AM Pacific Time. It will be down for less than 2 hours.
Until the patch goes out, please make sure you are in the same region (highlighted blue square on the minimap) as land you are attempting to buy. The easiest way to ensure this is to stand on the land in question.
This is a server patch only, so you won't need to download Second Life again.
