Here's your chance to have your avatar star in the new Second Life trailer!
We’re beginning development for the next Second Life trailer, and we need your help. To participate, all you need to do is lend us your coolest avatars or vehicles for filming. If you're interested, read on!
WHAT WE NEED:
We need avatars, costumes, and vehicles that fall into the categories below. We’re looking for 10-15 submissions in each category. Send us as many as you want in as many categories as you want.
AVATARS:
1.Creatures/Animals: monkeys, chickens, rabbits, and other interesting creatures
2.Medieval or Fantasy Characters: knights, wizards, elves, kings, queens, and additional Medieval townsfolk
3.Aliens
4.Models/Fashionable Avatars: your most stylish, best-dressed avatars – decked out in their best duds
5.Cyberpunks: sci-fi, Gibsonesque, Snowcrash-looking avatars
6.Wedding Party: brides, grooms, ministers, wedding guests
7.Fighters/Soldiers: avatars in full combat gear or camouflage, armed with guns, swords, knives
8.Merfolk/Watery Characters: sea-dwelling avatars of any variety
VEHICLES:
1.Pickups, sports cars, monster trucks, vans, and motorcycles
2.Hoverboards
3.Spaceships, helicopters, and other flying craft
DEADLINE:
Submit your avatars and vehicles as folders to Stephanie Linden by Tuesday, September 2 (See "WHAT TO DO" below).
OUR PROMISE:
We promise that we will use your avatars and vehicles for promotional purposes only, and that we will treat them with dignity and respect. We also promise that once we're done shooting, we'll delete your avatars, costumes, and vehicles from our inventory, so your creations remain yours alone.
CAVEATS:
To be eligible, films must: (1) be viewable on a PG sim (See Community Standards for more info), (2) not contain copyrighted or trademarked content.
We can't promise that we will use your particular avatar or vehicle in a particular place. We reserve the right to choose which avatars or vehicles we shoot and for what specific marketing purposes. However, by participating, you'll get a shot at some prime publicity for your avatar or vehicle!
WHAT TO DO:
Here's what you need to do to submit your avatar (follow these same instructions to submit your vehicle):
1. If you haven't already, save your avatar as a complete outfit/folder in your Inventory:
a. Click on your avatar
b. Click on "Appearance"
c. Click on "Make Outfit"
d. In the field next to "Folder Name," create a definitive name for your avatar. Make sure to include your SL name and any other identifying elements.
e. Check ALL items that are part of your look - skin, shape, clothing, attachments, etc.
f. Click "Save." Your avatar will be saved as a folder in your Inventory.
2. (Optional but helpful). It will help us keep all your avatars/attachments straight if you also include a note card in your folder that lists all the items that make up your avatar.
a. Open your Inventory
b. Choose "Create" and then "New Note"
c. Double-click on the new note. List all the items that make up your avatar/look: including attachments and other objects.
d. Click "Save."
e. Right-click on your note and rename it with your Avatar/Outfit name.
f. Drag the note into the avatar folder you created in #1 above.
3. Give your avatar to Stephanie Linden (Linden Lab Marketer):
a. While in-world, click "Edit" and then "Find People"
b. In the Name field, enter "Stephanie Linden" and click "Search"
c. Double-click on "Stephanie Linden" to open Stephanie's Profile.
d. Under "Online Now", at the bottom of the Profile, you'll see a field with the text "Drop inventory items here to give them to this avatar."
e. Open your Inventory. Drag the folder you created of your avatar into the "Drop inventory items…" field in Stephanie's Profile.
Feel free to give Stephanie more than one creation -- if you have a range of great looks and characters and vehicles, share as many as you'd like!
