Recently a number of questions have been raised with regard to Linden Lab's policy concerning the accessibility of Mature-rated Sims to minors (people under the age of 1

Of special concern was the liability of Second Life residents with regards to content that may be harmful to minors.
For clarification, our closed beta resident age policy is as follows:
Linden Lab will not allow residents under the age of 18.
Current residents that Linden Labs knows to be under the age of 18 have had their accounts suspended.
The content requirements and restrictions on PG and Mature sims as listed in the community standards have not changed.
However, we have added a restriction that will bar minors under 18 years of age from entering Mature-rated sim regions.
This restriction will be supported by a feature which prevents minors from entering Mature sim regions, which will be implemented in an upcoming update.
Upon implementation and testing of the "rating based access," residents under the age of 18 will be allowed in-world.
Until then minors will not be allowed to participate in the Second Life community.
Please send any concerns to support@lindenlab.com
