Finally you have a chance to win a coveted LIFETIME (Charter Member) Second Life Account! All you have to do is login between the hours of 7pm and 9pm PST on Sunday, July 31st. Any Resident 18 years of age or older who was logged in for at least 30 minutes during this time will be entered to win a drawing for a FREE Lifetime Account. In addition, these residents will also be entered to win one of 25 special limited edition Second Life necklaces. Just for participating, all residents (including the teens) will receive an in-world Second Life Benshee, a personalized in-world primitive pet that interacts with other Benshees it meets.

The Lifetime (Charter Member) Account was only available during Second Life’s initial launch and cost USD$225. The special account includes a permanent L$500/week stipend and land allocation of 4096m2.

In an effort to demonstrate, characterize, and improve the performance of our systems to handle the ever-increasing number of Residents, the Log-A-Thon 5000 Sweepstakes will help us determine the true capabilities of Second Life. Our goal is to reach 5,000 concurrent users, an unprecedented record in SL. This type of test is the best way for us to determine how much stress our current systems can handle, and, if in the case of a glitch, how and what parts of our system are weak. So, keep in mind that there may be some unexpected performance issues during this event and you can expect these changes to revert back to its original state when the event concludes.

We hope to see you on July 31st and we thank you in advance for your participation and for your continued support of Second Life!
