In order to improve the Second Life experience, we plan to upgrade to version 1.10.2 on Wednesday, June 7 2006 (pending final verification of all issues). Second Life will be unavailable from 7am to 12pm PT/SLT. A client software update will be required to use this version.
Release notes will be available on Tuesday, June 6.

Grid downtime CANCELLED - Wednesday, June 7, 2006

Hi, everyone.
Because some server-side fixes aren't quite ready yet, we're cancelling the grid downtime Wednesday morning. There will still be an optional (but recommended) client software update available for download on Wednesday. Release notes about the client software update will be posted here on Tuesday, June 6.

One more update on tomorrow's upgrade.

Hi, everyone.
Because the client software upgrade fixes a number of crashes that have been affecting many Residents, we've decided to make the upgrade mandatory. The new client software will post around 12 Noon SLT, Wednesday, June 7.

Here are the release notes for tomorrow's 1.10.2 release. The new feature to look for is the updated inventory filters.

New features:
* Inventory filter tabs
** The Inventory now features tabs for "All Items", and "Recent Items"
*** "All Items" is the current default view
*** "Recent Items" contains all items received since last logoff
** "Sort by Date" now sorts folders by date as well
*** Folders with the most recent items should float to the top when sorting by date
*** Sorting a folder by name and the contents by date has been retained by selecting "Folders Always by Name"
** Each tab for Inventory has its own inventory filter
*** Switching tabs switches which inventory filter is in use.
** The filters now also include the options to sort for inventory which was last recieved in hours/days
Bug Fixes:
* The autoupdate utility now remembers the SLURL you just used and passes it to SL after updating
* Fixed a bug with flexible attachments made with Twist Begin
* Fixed a bug that prevented typing in or exiting from Mouselook
* Inventory fetching is now more reliable
* Fixed some viewer crashes
