Earlier, we announced Second Life 1.12.2 would be released tomorrow on Sept. 27, with expected downtime from 7 AM - 12 PM SLT/PDT. This has been cancelled, and the 1.12.2 release is now tentatively scheduled for next week, Wednesday, October 4, 2006, with the same downtime window.
The reason is because version 1.12.2’s primary purpose is to improve the security & stability of the Second Life world, and some of the programming and related testing isn’t finished yet. Rather than rush it out on you, we’re using the time to continue to work on what we hope will be a smooth and stable release.
In between now and then, it’s *possible* we may be releasing an extra, optional viewer-side update containing bug fixes for some annoying issues—which we’ve heard many requests to be fixed ASAP. More details will be shared on the Official Linden Blog as usual when we have news.
Our apologies for any and all inconveniences involving changes to your plans tomorrow due to this!
