Hello,

Some Second Life Residents have asked whether, much like other online services, Linden employees will have personal Second Life accounts in addition to their Linden accounts. The answer is most definitely yes. As Second Life grows larger, we’ll spend time in-world socializing, role playing and pursuing different individual goals than we’re otherwise able to do as Lindens.

These personal accounts will not have a “Linden” last name, but always play within the rules of the game, stay out of contests/LeaderBoard and seek to contribute to the overall Second Life community. We think of them as our “fun” accounts as opposed to our “work” accounts, and, for some of us, the chance to become anonymous. If you happen to discover that another resident is actually a Linden, please keep the information to yourself.

This protection of “first life” true identity is an important component of Second Life, so we ask that you respect each individual’s right to privacy, whether they are a Linden or another member of the community. We’re all building this world together.

See you in Second Life!

Hunter Linden
